The Travel and Insurance Team is a well established team of lawyers, led by Bronwen Courtenay-Stamp who has been with Stones for over 20 years. The team is used to advising on travel accidents and travel liability matters throughout the World, acting mainly for insurers. We have a strong reputation in dealing with all aspects of travel insurance and legal claims, to include those involving personal injury as well as directly regarding insurance contracts. Advice is given on both claimant and defendant matters, in respect of public liability issues as well as the regarding the granting and monitoring of legal expense cover and acting for the Claimant in seeking compensation awards. Work is also carried out in relation to recoveries for insurers, on issues of potential fraud, and in arranging independent medical examinations for insurers.
In relation to snow skiing accidents, Stones has an international reputation. Our work in this field has placed the firm amongst the foremost in the country. We have had direct input into the drafting of the Ski and Snow Boarding Codes operated by the fédération internationale du ski (the "FIS Code of Conduct"). We were also instrumental in the inclusion of the arbitration rules and FIS competition licenses referring dispute to the International Court for Arbitration and Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
