Stones Running Team Raises Money Bristol Fashion
A big-hearted team of runners from Stones Solicitors LLP, one of Devon’s leading law firms, is to run the Bristol Half Marathon on 11th September to raise money for charity Renewable World.
Renewable World works with local partners in Africa, Asia and Central America to tackle poverty by enabling the provision of small-scale renewable energy systems (solar, wind, hydro and biogas) for remote, off-grid communities.
More than 1.4 billion people worldwide have no access to electricity. Indoor air pollution from paraffin, wood, grass or animal dung used for lighting and heating kills nearly 2 million people every year – mainly women and children.
As well as saving lives, the work of Renewable World also creates sustainable communities and economies wherever it supports a renewable energy system.
James Menzies, Partner and Head of Social Housing at Stones and a keen marathon runner, said: “The team and I are looking forward to taking part in the Bristol Half Marathon and to supporting a little-known charity whose work is invaluable to the communities it supports. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to sponsor us, so we can send a respectable sum to Renewable World.”
