New Associates at Stones pass New Selection Process
Hannah Lush and Ian Brown are the first people at leading Devon law firm Stones Solicitors LLP, to become Associates under its new Associate Selection Process.
The firm’s new Associate Selection Process has been developed to ensure that the best upcoming talent in the firm is celebrated via a selection process that is both challenging and which results in recognisable credibility.
As well as ensuring that candidates meet approved criteria for a number of overriding qualities, the process rewards excellence with regard to the respect they command both within and outside the firm; their commitment to the firm and its ethos; their commercial awareness and astuteness; and their ability to acquire and retain new clients.
Hannah Lush is part of the firm’s Family Team and qualified as a solicitor in Devon 10 years ago. She joined Stones in May 2009 and earlier this year became the second solicitor within the firm to achieve membership of the Law Society Children Panel.
She said: “Being one of the first to undergo the new Associate Selection Process at Stones was a challenge, but one that I am pleased to have done. I felt that my associate-ship was something I had earned, and as a consequence it means a lot more.”
Ian Brown is part of the firm’s nationally-recognised specialist Travel and Insurance Team. Ian Joined Stones in 2007 and qualified in 2009. He said: “The whole process was demanding which is a good thing, because the firm’s policy of promoting growth from within means that it has to be sure it has chosen the right people to take an Associate role.”
Adrian Richards, Chief Operating Officer at Stones, commented: “It is vitally important to us that we encourage our staff to make the most of their talents, which is why the development of expertise from within is a key component of our strategy for growth. We have introduced our new Associate Selection Process to ensure that we choose the very best talent to go forward, and that being an Associate at Stones is a meaningful position with a dynamic contribution to the development of the business.”
