Ian Brown
Associate
Ian Brown is an Associate Solicitor in the Travel, Tourism and Insurance team.
Ian qualified in September 2009 with Stones having completed his training contract with the firm including a significant period in the Travel, Tourism and Insurance team.
On 1 November 2011, he was appointed as an Associate Solicitor as part of the firm’s new Associate selection process which recognises excellence with regard to the respect commanded both within and outside the firm; commitment to the firm and its ethos; commercial awareness and astuteness; and ability to acquire and retain new clients.
He has a varied caseload and confidently deals with insurance disputes and compensation claims arising out of accidents both in the UK and abroad. Whilst Ian’s work is Claimant based, he also deals with complex domestic and international defence matters and has a successful track record in the recovery of insurer’s outlay by way of subrogation.
Given Ian’s knowledge of travel related issues he has recently appeared on Radio Devon discussing travel insurance, the role of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and practical advice before travelling.

• Liability claims under the Animals Act primarily arising out of Dog Bite incidents
