If you are a business or individual owed money in respect of outstanding debts by other businesses or individuals, Stones’ Debt Recovery Service (DRS) is your answer. Stones’ DRS operates a low rate fixed fee system for each step in making a county court claim.
Stones offer each client a cost effective, proactive way to recover debts which have previously proved difficult to get paid. Each case will receive expert individual attention to bring the matter to conclusion in the most economical and expedient way.
Stones recognise that the cost of bringing legal action needs to be proportionate to that of the claim and the table below details our fixed fee charges for undisputed claims.
Fixed Fee charging guidelines, for Standard Debt Recovery Service:
- Letter Before Action (LBA) - £35 plus VAT
Fixed Costs to Issue proceedings
- Claims up to £1,000 - £125 plus VAT plus Court Fee
- Claims of £1,001 to £3,000 - £150 plus VAT plus Court Fee
- Claims of £3,001 to £15,000 - £175 plus VAT plus Court Fee
- Claims over £15,001 by negotiation
Monitoring key Court processes and deadlines - FREE
Entering Judgment in Default - FREE
Fees in Defended Claims are negotiable or by reference to hourly charging rates
Enforcement of Judgment Orders
Attachment of Earnings Order Applications - £175 plus VAT plus Court Fee - £50 plus VAT plus Court Fee
Instruction of Baliffs or transfer to High Court Sheriffs' - £50 plus VAT plus Court Fee
Third Party Debtor Order Applications - £175 plus VAT plus Court Fee
Orders to obtain further information from Defendant - £175 plus VAT plus Court Fee
Charging Orders against Land or Property - £200 plus VAT plus Court Fee Plus Registration fees

Stones DRS is operated by Andrew Lovett, who is a member of our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. Andrew has a proven track record in recovering debts of any amount having gained extensive experience in all aspects of accounts, credit control, purchase and sales ledgers, litigation procedures and enforcement methods. Andrew also has access to online debtor credit reports and trace facilities.
