Working for Stones

Training and Development

Stones have a history of commitment to training and development for its entire staff. We have many success stories in the Firm, where as a result of the investment and the potential of the member of staff, they have been able to realise their career aspirations and progress quickly to senior positions in the Firm.

We believe that the investment benefits not only the individual but also the firm and its clients in being able to provide first class client focussed service.

We have an ongoing approach to identifying potential and providing training and work development opportunities tailored to the individual.

All our staff have access to regular DVD briefings that provide updates in all areas of law. We also use a number of external training providers for specific courses that meet the needs of the individual and the business.

Equality and Diversity

Stones are committed to creating and maintaining a work culture where equality and diversity are the signs of our commitment to all our staff and the standard of service that our clients can expect from us.

Our society today is based on a broad mix of individuals, cultures and communities all of whom have specific needs and differences to contribute to society and the world of work. This diversity also comes with a huge range of creativity, ideas and differences that add value to our lives.

Understanding this enables Stones staff to appreciate those differences and meet the varying needs of both our staff and clients.

Equality and diversity in our culture and our business operations will contribute to the overall success of Stones’ employees, Partners and the business relationships with our clients. Therefore we strive to achieve:

  • The promotion of equality of opportunity
  • The promotion of good relations
  • The elimination of unlawful discrimination

Stones will continue to ensure that we do not discriminate in any of our activities on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or physical ability.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Stones take its role in the environment very seriously both in terms of its impact on the communities with which it works and also the impact on the environment.

We regularly assess our use of recyclable items and endeavor to ensure that wherever we can we use things from renewable resources.

Most of our paper is shredded with a national firm who calculate that on average Stones saves 253 trees each half year added to which all our paper is from suppliers of sustainable forests.

We participate in charitable events throughout the year and have a developing programme of support to a local charity each year.

We take our responsibility for ethical and quality service to our clients very seriously and have recently been re-accredited with the Law Society Lexcel mark. All our employees are trained in and aware of the regulations relating to money laundering and conflicts of interest.

Stones is an equal opportunity employer
