Triple Jump for Progressive Law Firm

Stones Solicitors is celebrating a triple success after achieving the Investors in People standard for the first time, retaining the Lexcel Practice Management accreditation for the ninth year in succession, and converting to a limited liability partnership (LLP).

The South West focussed law firm with offices in Exeter and Okehampton, and an appointment based service in Torrington is listed as a Top 200 UK law firm by The Lawyer magazine and is recognised by the two leading independent directories, Chambers and Legal 500   as a leading practice providing top quality advice to businesses and individuals throughout the South West and a niche expertise on a national and international basis.

The firm has continuously met the Lexcel Practice Management standards every year for the last nine years and the high levels of quality and attention to detail that the standard demands is embedded in the firm’s culture.  Lexcel accreditation is only awarded after rigorous independent assessment.

Investors in People sets out a framework for the training development and motivation of the staff within the business and its recent achievement by Stones is a reflection of the effort and commitment the firm has put into developing its staff and ensuring excellent communication of the firm’s vision so that the objectives set out in the firm’s Strategic Plan can be embraced by all the staff.

Lucy Palmer, the firm’s HR Manager, commented “Stones operates within a framework of modern people management where learning and personal development is embedded throughout the firm and everyone is encouraged to contribute new ideas towards the success of their Team and the firm as a whole”.

Finally Stones has converted to an LLP to ensure that it is structurally well placed to thrive in the modern business environment.

Paul Keeling, the firm’s Chief Executive said “We are immensely proud of these achievements and our message to the outside world is that, notwithstanding the recession, Stones is a firm that has its sights firmly focussed on the future.   Likeminded prospective clients and new employees should not hesitate to come and talk to us. Our further development throughout 2010 will continue with a major overhaul of our computing systems leading to its wholesale replacement in the early autumn and the introduction of a state of the art IT infrastructure that will enable us to further improve the quality and cost effectiveness of our service delivery”.
