Liability Claims
Legal advice on liability issues is essential as liability includes civil liability, strict liability, vicarious liability and may also include criminal procedures leading to civil liability.
We fight claims made against individuals and insurers brought both in the United Kingdom and abroad in relation to a wide range of matters such as road traffic accidents, maritime incidents, fires, assaults, ski and snowboarding liability. We are well used to dealing with claims both large and small.
Liability cases can be very expensive not only in terms of reserving for the claim itself, but also in relation to ancillary fees involved in relation to matters in foreign jurisdictions. We aim to assist insurers and work with them in reporting, gathering evidence and dealing with the claim itself.
The Team has been described by its clients as being appreciated for both “commerciality and responsiveness”.

The Team understands the needs of the travel industry to make recoveries where possible and economic to do so and is pleased to work in partnership with many of the leading insurers involved in the travel industry.
Decisive and clear advice is required together with an ability to see and advise fully on the many pitfalls often present in these recovery cases. A commercial attitude is always taken to these claims and we understand the needs of insurers in this regard.
Where we need assistance from agents abroad we have a large network of reliable and carefully approved sub contractors ready and willing to assist, many of whom we have built up relationships with over several years.
Investigations
It is important for insurers to know that investigations whether in respect of potential or suspected fraud or which require additional expertise such as from investigations or the medical profession can be dealt with in a professional manner.
We have acted for many years for a number of prominent insurers on issues of potential fraud, and have dealt with investigation work, arranging independent medical examinations and representing insurers when claims are made against them.
