Rachel is a Solicitor in the Defence Advocates Team
Rachel is a very popular Advocate within the South West. In 2007, in recognition of her extensive experience and skill she was awarded her Higher Rights (Criminal) Qualification.
She has built up a significant following of very loyal clients who appreciate the extra mile she is always prepared to go for them.
Rachel has the experience to deal with all types of matters before the Court, including the Youth Court, and in the Police Station and appears in the local Magistrates’ Court on an almost daily basis. She is the regional area representative for Duty Solicitors and liaises with Police to protect the rights and interests of those detained in custody. Rachel has undertaken some prison law work.
She has been involved in:
- Cases of robbery and causing death by dangerous driving
- ASBO hearings
- Defending false allegation of rape, a case which was recognised nationally.
