Michelle Brooks

Michelle is a Paralegal in the Child Care Team.
She has practised with Stones since 2001 and her main expertise has been working in the criminal justice field. She is now developing her experience in the Child Care Team working very closely with the Child Care Solicitors.
Throughout her time at Stones she has gained a thorough understanding of the Court process and has gained knowledge of the art of persuasion.
She is committed to promoting her clients interests in a professional and sensitive manner. She recognises the considerable stress that can accumulate within the Court arena and approaches the same with a professional and sympathetic attitude.
The expertise that she has gained leads her to the understanding that a successful case is built on thorough preparation and management of the expectation of clients.
Michelle is well on her way to qualifying as a Legal Executive and has completed her Higher National Diploma in Legal Practice with an overall distinction.
Michelle has recently advised in cases involving:
- Vulnerable young mothers, some with learning disabilities
- Care proceedings with complex medical issues
- Residence and contact issues where emotions run particularly high
- Cross allegations of drug and alcohol abuse in relation to the impact on parenting
