Hannah Lush

Associate

Hannah Lush is a Solicitor in the Family Team and is a Member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association).

Hannah has recently been appointed to the Law Society’s Children Panel. Membership of the Children Panel means that Hannah can now represent children in legal proceedings, for example when a Local Authority intervenes and takes children into care.  Without membership any solicitor can act for parents or other family members in such cases, but they cannot act for children.

Hannah has eight years post qualification experience in dealing with all aspects of Family Law and Child Care. Following qualification in 2001 Hannah concentrated on disputes involving children and acted for parents, as well as other parties, in legal proceedings between individuals as well as involving the Local Authority. Hannah has developed into general family practice in addition to continuing with child care work.  She has significant experience in divorce, financial disputes following on from separation and disputes between co habitants.

Hannah deals with both privately funded and publicly funded matters.

Hannah has recently advised in relation to:

  • A contact dispute which was transferred to the High Court as there were allegations of sexual abuse, the parents lived in two separate jurisdictions and the Court felt the child needed its own representation by way of a Guardian being appointed.
  • A High Net Worth divorce and resolution of financial matters where there were significant assets, some of which were out of the jurisdiction, as well as issues over spousal maintenance.
  • A dispute over financial matters where the parties had been divorced for many years and both parties had remarried. The Court had to consider which assets would be taken into account and what the division of the assets should be when considering a fair and equitable financial settlement.
  • A dispute between cohabitants where one cohabitant bought a property with their own funds. The property was put in the joint names of the two cohabitants and on separation there was a dispute as to how much each party should receive from the property.

"Hannah was excellent."
