Charlotte is an Associate in the Travel Tourism & Insurance Team.
Charlotte specialises in travel matters mainly in relation to injuries sustained abroad, and including recoveries for Insurers.
Charlotte speaks French and Spanish.
She is also a member of the Travel and Tourism Lawyers Association.
Charlotte has recently advised in relation to:
- A Claimant who sustained personal injuries in a road traffic accident in Italy. The Defendant was American and his Insurers were German. It was alleged by the Defendant that there was contributory negligence and there were issues with regard to applicable law. However, the claim was negotiated with damages being recovered of over €100,000.00 on a full liability basis.
- Slipping accidents in Spain dealt with under the Spanish “administrative procedure”.
- The liability of Insurers under an Insurance Contract where an accident occurred at a fairground park and questions were raised as to whether the insured was participating in an excluded activity.
- A medical negligence claim in Belgium where a settlement was negotiated in excess of €115,000.00
- Accidents on board aircraft dealt with under the “Montreal Convention”
- A Claimant who sustained personal injuries in a slipping accident in a Hotel in Majorca. The claim was contested and proceedings were issued. Details of local standards were obtained together with expert evidence and liability was agreed by the Defendant before the matter proceeded to trial
